Parkour Coach Academy

The Parkour Coach Academy is for new and experienced coaches who are looking to gain knowledge regarding effective Parkour coaching practices and see immediate positive results in their classes.

Students must complete all onboarding materials to start the course. After completing onboarding, students will complete 5 Learning Modules containing videos and assignments. At the end of the course, students will have to pass a final quiz to receive their certificate of completion.

This course provides a comprehensive look at the knowledge base, roles and responsibilities, and qualities of great parkour coaches. This course was developed based on the testimonies from certified and experienced Parkour coaches regarding what they believed great Parkour coaching looks like and about their personal coaching challenges. This course also covers many special topics not covered in other popular coach training programs and certifications such as student/coach personality profiles, managing self-destructive emotions, virtual coaching, and competition coaching.

Students will gain access to useful resources for Parkour coaching including a list of common Parkour skills listed by skill level and a frequently updated list of Parkour drills and games. Students will acquire fundamental and specialized knowledge regarding skill acquisition and how the learning process occurs, how to structure classes and communicate with students effectively, and how to break down skills to allow for safe and efficient coaching. Special topics such as competition coaching, injury prevention, virtual coaching, and getting students engaged in parkour culture/community will also be discussed.
